Jitendra Singh, a three-time J&K MP, is appointed to the Ministry of Science and Technology

For the third time in a row, Jitendra Singh has become the first person from Jammu and Kashmir to hold a ministerial position at the Centre.

Jitendra Singh, a three-time BJP member of parliament from Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, was appointed as the Minister of State (independent charge) of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences on Monday when Union Council of Ministers portfolios were assigned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The 67-year-old made history by becoming the first politician from the union territory to be appointed to a third straight term in the cabinet at the Center. He started out in politics with the BJP and held the position of Minister of State during the first and second administrations of Narendra Modi.
